![]() ![]() Today (April 17) marks the 17th death anniversary of Soundarya and tributes are pouring in for the versatile actress from all quarters. Sadly, she was two-month pregnant at the time of death. During an unfortunate accident in April 2004, the ‘Anthapuram’ actress was charred to death when the aircraft she was travelling in crashed and exploded in flames within three minutes after taking off. Soundarya is the recipient of three Nandi Awards, two Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Actress and several Filmfare Awards. She romanced almost all the leading stars in the country which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Vishnuvardhan, Mohanlal and others. In an eventful career spanning for over a decade, the Karnataka-born actress played the leading lady in close to 100 films across multiple languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
